About the School / Service
We have built an External Relations Directorate that has brought together an integrated Communications & Engagement and Student Recruitment & Marketing service. The directorate is made up of several teams including Communications & Engagement, Marketing, Recruitment and Conversion, Outreach and Access, Design and Digital, Events and Advancement and the International Office.
We are looking for team members who will be part of embedding an innovative practice and a digital first mindset within our External Relations Directorate. We seek individuals who not only enjoy working in an agile environment but also demonstrate a willingness to embrace new technology and transformational change. Together, we aim to cultivate a culture of 'continuous new', staying updated with emerging technologies and best practice across the sector.
This role will sit within Outreach and Access, in the Information, Advice and Guidance Service (IAG), and is funded by Office for Students (OfS). OfS funding is used to tackle and eliminate inequalities in higher education and the Outreach and Access – Mature student team, work with mature students who are an underrepresented group and who are least likely to participate in higher education, to help them make informed decisions regarding their educational futures.
About the Job
The Matrix accredited IAG Service is seeking an IAG Adviser to work with prospective mature students (19yrs+) from widening participation backgrounds. The role will support with the planning, organisation and delivery of work streams and events such as in-person and online presentations to college learners (both subject-specific and generic); person-centred information, advice and guidance consultations; and delivering workshops in community settings. Successful project management experience as well as strong administrative and digital skills are also required for this role along with a proactive, innovative and enthusiastic mindset. A collaborative approach will be required to work with key stakeholders who can include subject tutors, ambassadors, career teams, UEL academics, university service areas, and third parties. Our core work is within London and Essex and occasional weekend and evening work will be required. Our work supports the university’s wider recruitment strategy.

About You
Are you an experienced IAG/ Careers Adviser? We invite proactive, enthusiastic and digitally proficient candidates who have a strong passion for supporting potential applicants into Higher Education and have a clear understanding and respect for the unique needs of mature learners including those from a widening participation background.
Your excellent verbal and written communication skills enable you to convey IAG in an engaging and accessible way that captivates various audiences to see the potential of their Higher Education journey and possible future career pathways through client-centred IAG.
