Our Doctoral College is key to the University’s aims of supporting and developing the next generation of academic, industrial and societal leaders.  In this varied role you’ll work closely with the Doctoral College management team, Doctoral Training Programme Manager and DTP Director to deliver an outstanding student experience to our PGR communities.

The Doctoral College is looking to appoint a senior administrator for two of our Doctoral Training Programmes to support the delivery of an excellent student experience. The successful applicant will be motivated, enthusiastic and a proactive team player who is culturally sensitive and are able to work effectively in a flexible and responsive environment.

As a member of the Doctoral College you will deliver a professional and efficient service including operational assistance and administrative support to the DTP student and academic community. To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have the ability to build effective and credible working relationships and liaise confidently with your stakeholders
  • Be adaptable, flexible, proactive and a team player with strong interpersonal skills and a positive and enthusiastic approach
  • Have excellent time management and organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload effectively to meet business requirements
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as up to date MS Office skills

The role is hybrid with a mix of working from home and on campus which may vary between both Highfield and the National Oceanographic Centre (NOC). Expectations are that 5 out of every 10 working days will be on campus.
