Research Assistant Professor (5 vacancies) (23241178)
The Faculty of Science of Hong Kong Baptist University comprises five academic departments, namely Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics. In addition to offering a wide spectrum of academic programmes in the science discipline at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, the Faculty strives to play a leading role in science and technological advancement through innovative, high-impact, and cutting-edge research.
“AI for Science” is our Faculty Collaborative Research Area, emphasising a transdisciplinary approach. It is currently seeking five highly motivated and skilled scholars to join as Research Assistant Professors to further research initiatives and efforts in this regard.
Responsibilities:
Being affiliated with one of the five academic departments, the successful candidates will contribute to “AI for Science” through a broad range of attributes, including but not limited to:
- Engaging in independent and collaborative research, and contributing to collective goals;
- Publishing and disseminating research findings in peer-reviewed journals;
- Initiating, coordinating and/or supporting any related publicity and development opportunities (such as funding and knowledge transfer); and
- Participating in academic conferences, workshops, and seminars to share expertise and foster collaborations.
Requirements:
Applicants should be a PhD holder with a strong record of relevant scientific productivity, as demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications. The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two years.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
