The Faculty of Science of Hong Kong Baptist University comprises five academic departments, namely Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics.  In addition to offering a wide spectrum of academic programmes in the science discipline at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, the Faculty strives to play a leading role in science and technological advancement through innovative, high-impact, and cutting-edge research. 

“AI for Science” is our Faculty Collaborative Research Area, emphasising a transdisciplinary approach.  It is currently seeking five highly motivated and skilled scholars to join as Research Assistant Professors to further research initiatives and efforts in this regard.

Responsibilities:

Being affiliated with one of the five academic departments, the successful candidates will contribute to “AI for Science” through a broad range of attributes, including but not limited to:

• Engaging in independent and collaborative research, and contributing to collective goals;
• Publishing and disseminating research findings in peer-reviewed journals;
• Initiating, coordinating and/or supporting any related publicity and development opportunities (such as funding and knowledge transfer); and
• Participating in academic conferences, workshops, and seminars to share expertise and foster collaborations.

Requirements:

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two years. 

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
