Job Description:  

Applications are invited for the Post of Project Scientist for the VIT–IAMRAI Collaborative Projects on Paediatric cardiac healthcare technologies in the Centre for Biomaterials, Cellular and Molecular Theranostics (CBCMT), at Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT).

Title of the Project:

“Cardiovascular Medical Devices”

Qualification:

Master’s or PhD degree in the field of Biomaterials engineering, Medical devices, polymer chemistry, bioengineering, tissue engineering, chemical/mechanical engineering with relevant work experience in biomedical devices or any other degrees with related field, or the applicant's project/ research work must be close to the project. 2+ years of experience in the medical device industry is a plus. Personal suitability and motivation for the position.  

Describe:

Self-driven, ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and thrive in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary environment. Experience in working with natural / synthetic polymeric materials. Experience in setting up polymerization reactions under controlled reaction conditions. Experience in developing fabrication processes / optimization studies for the development of biomedical devices. Experience in surface passivation techniques on Nitinol-based devices. Experience in performing cell-based assays independently Experience in working with CAD software and build models independently.  

Stipend:

Rs. 35,000/- per month, stipend will be as per Institute norms.
