Overview
The School of Nursing and Midwifery is seeking a distinguished and innovative Professor of Midwifery to join our esteemed Professoriate team. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced and passionate professional to support the leadership in the research and development of midwifery practice.
The successful candidate will contribute to the strategic direction of the School, fostering an environment that supports excellence in teaching, research and clinical practice. The role involves mentoring early and mid-career researchers, the supervision of higher degree by research students and engaging in high-quality research that influences policy and practice.
This position will take a leadership role in the Safe, Quality Midwifery Care Research Group. The priority areas of the research group are:
- Optimising the health and well-being of childbearing women pre-conception, through pregnancy, during birth, and postpartum
- A robust, sustainable and appropriately skilled midwifery workforce contributing to effective, efficient and respectful midwifery care.
- Methods for timely implementation of evidence-based innovation into midwifery practice.
You will also demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the University’s values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry Personal Excellence and Courage.

This part time, ongoing position attracts remuneration of $213,161 pa (pro rata 40%) plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
