As a Senior Finance Partner, you will:
- Implement the vision and strategy for the Finance Partnering teams and assist in developing a strategic framework and disciplined process to successfully implement tailored business service offerings, tools and performance indicators.
- Collaborate proactively with Senior Management and other stakeholders, ensuring strategic objectives are met and exceeded.
- Determine and employ a customer engagement model ensuring excellent customer service and close engagement with the Executive Deans, Deputy Vice-Chancellors and their executive leadership teams, and the Finance and Assurance functional teams through the delivery of exemplary financial partnering and high-quality financial support and services.
- Oversee and guide the timely coordination, preparation and submission of annual budgets, forecast and triennial projections, monitoring financial performance throughout the year. Ensure optimal operational and strategic financial management of Portfolio and Faculty initiatives through interpreting, providing insight and driving finance performance.
- Provide high-level strategic and policy advice on all matters relating to financial and business management.
- Identify current and common finance business management issues and challenges and develop initiatives/process improvements/solutions that will support the University in meeting these. Derive insights through utilisation of both descriptive and predictive analytics to inform business decision making and support.
- Identify emerging finance and commercial needs and challenges for the higher education sector to support the development of innovative and best practice finance strategies, policies and initiatives.
- Lead, participate in and contribute to a range of Finance projects, identifying enhancements to existing processes, and introduce best practice strategies, policies and practices, to improve organisational performance.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- Proven expertise in the management of significant human and material resources
- Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience in Finance Business Partnering
- Experience providing high level and complex advice and services to senior Managers through the establishment of meaningful relationships
- Experience facilitating clients through robust practices to enable strategic thinking and solutions for the future
- Knowledge of contemporary Partnering practice
- Experience as a partner or consultant providing specialist knowledge to stakeholders within a business
- Experience drafting position papers, reports, briefings, and other documents
- Extensive experience designing effective solutions to complex business and technical problems
- Proven leadership and extensive experience in business operations management, strategy, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation
