Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow (PDF) / Senior Research Assistant (SRA) in the Sau Po Centre on Ageing within the Faculty of Social Sciences (Ref.:530632) to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year temporary basis for PDF, or on a three-year fixed-term basis for SRA, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.
Applicants for Post Doctoral Fellow should possess a PhD degree or equivalent in Social Science, Psychology, Public Health or other related disciplines with at least 2 years of post-bachelor's work experience. Applicants for Senior Research Assistant should possess a Master’s degree or above in Gerontology, Psychology, Social Sciences, Health Sciences, Statistics, or a related discipline with at least 3-year post-qualification experience, preferably with clinical/therapy professional training with membership/registration of relevant professional bodies in Hong Kong or overseas. Previous work experience in big data analysis and developing and managing territory-wide projects in collaboration with community partners, is highly desirable. Applicants with experience in managing large databases of research projects relating to family caregivers of older adults and/or cost effectiveness evaluation, and with related track records of academic publication are preferred. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (fluency in Cantonese would be an advantage), advanced knowledge and experience with statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, Stata) and MS Office applications (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.), and good interpersonal and organizational skills.
The appointees will work in a multidisciplinary team with local and international experts to conduct high-impact research related to family caregivers of older adults and/or gerontechnology, and will be responsible for data management, advanced data analysis, and performing other duties as assigned. Publication opportunities and professional development support are available.
