Maynooth University is a dynamic public university of approximately 16,000 students. As part of its support for students the University provides a Student Counselling Service. The Counselling Service is a fast-paced, demand led and professional service, which provides counselling and psychological services to registered students of Maynooth University and Saint Patricks Pontifical University. Student Services is set within the Office for Students and Learning.

We are seeking to recruit a professionally qualified and experienced Head of Counselling Service to provide strategic and clinical oversight and leadership to Maynooth University’s Counselling Service. Reporting to the Director of Student Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivery of clinical services, including a range of counselling initiatives, development and implementation of policies and procedures, as well as identifying and monitoring risk in relation to service delivery. They will also be responsible for the leadership and management of a team of professionally qualified counsellors.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a rewarding setting. Candidates must be able to demonstrate an ability to work well in a team environment, while simultaneously using their own initiative. The successful candidates must have an excellent attention to detail and accuracy in their output. As this position will operate within Student Services, candidates should understand and have empathy with the mission, ethos, and overall approach of Student Services.

Salary

Senior Administrative Officer IV (SAOIV) (2024): €67,981– €107,942 p.a. (7 points)

Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.
