- Part-time (0.4- 0.6 FTE) appointment on a fixed term basis for two years.
- Base salary range: Level A, $80,520 – $108,362 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.
About the area
The project is co-located and delivered in collaboration with the Southwest Aboriginal Medical Service (SWAMS), a Noongar organisation, headquartered in Bunbury, delivering comprehensive primary health care (CPHC) in WA’s South West. CPHC is a holistic and culturally sensitive approach, encompassing a wide range of services across the physical health, social and emotional wellbeing, prevention-treatment continuum. The project focus is on developing and implementing culturally informed data measures and tools, essential for SWAMS to achieve improved delivery of CPHC services and programs, by applying Indigenous data sovereignty principles.
About the opportunity
- Develop your expertise in research project management and qualitative research methods in the area of Aboriginal health with an increasing degree of autonomy
- Work closely with the SWAMS Project Lead and Access and Engagement team based in Bunbury.
- Draft a research ethics application; undertake research activities such as literature reviews and the collection and organisation of data.
- Support the project Chief Investigator to coordinate the running of the project including managing project documentation, drafting project reports, managing project Investigator meetings, coordinating research outputs, and supporting applications for further funding for Phase 2 of the project.
About you
- Completed 4 years of tertiary study or equivalent qualifications and experience in a relevant discipline
- Experience using qualitative research methods, awareness of and interest in learning more about Aboriginal ways of knowing, being and doing related to research
- Experience of and/or commitment to Aboriginal health and wellbeing
- Commitment to uphold ethical research and data collection practices
- Commitment to increasing Aboriginal peoples’ roles in improving the health and well-being of their communities, as planners and managers, service providers, trainers and trainees
