About the position

La Trobe Law School is committed to fostering outstanding law and criminology professionals. The School School is looking for a dedicated and dynamic early-career researcher and educator to enrich our progressive and practice-oriented Law program. Our vision is to foster a research, teaching and learning environment that prioritises excellence. Ideal for an emerging scholar with a strong foundation in teaching and research, the successful candidate will be expected to produce high-quality research outputs, successfully obtain external research funding and be committed to providing an outstanding educational experience for law students. The School is open to candidates with research and teaching capacities in all areas of law, and is especially interested in candidates with capacity to teach Civil Procedure, Property Law, Public Law, Cyber Law and Environment Law.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have

  • PhD in a relevant discipline.
  • Demonstrated competence in teaching and curriculum development.
  • Evidence of high quality and/or high impact research conducted and published or otherwise disseminated, relative to opportunity.
  • Sound analytical skills with an ability to communicate complex information clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • High level organisational skills with the ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, initiate and follow-up actions, all with minimal or no supervision.
  • High level verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with people from a diverse range of backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively with staff and students from a diverse range of backgrounds.
