About the position

The La Trobe Rural Health School (LRHS) is the largest rural health school in Australia, with campuses based in Bendigo, Mildura, Shepparton, and Albury-Wodonga. We aim to make rural health and well-being matter at local, national, and international levels by fostering outstanding graduates and impactful research.

LRHS offers a wide range of health courses including dentistry, oral health, nursing, midwifery, paramedicine, pharmacy, biomedical sciences (onshore and offshore), physiotherapy, social work, speech pathology, exercise physiology, exercise science and occupational therapy. At LRHS we deliver an established Bachelor of Paramedic Practice with Honours from our Bendigo campus.

As part of our dynamic team, you will:

  • Create, coordinate and deliver engaging learning experiences including tutorials, practical classes, workshops, clinical simulations, field excursions, and online or asynchronous activities.
  • Lean and coordinate subjects and specific course elements related to paramedicine and clinical or industry practice.
  • Innovate and evaluate contemporary teaching methods to deliver high-quality paramedicine education and prepare practice-ready graduates.
  • Actively contribute to student recruitment and promotional activities for paramedicine and other LRHS courses.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with local, national, and international partners to enhance teaching and clinical placement opportunities in paramedicine and rural health.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have:

  • Postgraduate qualification, such as Masters or PhD or equivalent accreditation and standing recognised by the University and the paramedicine profession, dual Registration as a Paramedic and Registered Nurse would be an advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching and curriculum development.
  • Demonstrated clinical/industry experience as a paramedic.
  • Clear understanding of the accreditation requirements and skill capabilities of an entry-level paramedic
  • Passion for rural health and wellbeing and an understanding of rural health care needs.

Essential Compliance Requirements

To hold this La Trobe University, position the occupant must:

  • Be registered with Paramedicine Board of Australia | AHPRA
