Research Position for Hormonal Crosstalk in the Plant Development Group
About this position:
Applications are invited for a 3–4-year research position in the research group of Helene Robert Boisivon, Ph.D., to join the TowArds Next GENeration Crops (TANGENC) project, reg. number CZ.02.01.01/00/22_008/0004581, in Programme Johannes Amos Comenius (Czech Republic - The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, co-funded by the European Union).
Our research aims at understanding the effects of endogenous and environmental regulators on plant morphogenesis and seed formation. We perform this work on two plant models: Arabidopsis thaliana and Brassica napus. Our objectives are to identify the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying the regulation of hormonal pathways during seed production.
The researcher will be mainly involved in research activities within work package NO.5 – EDITING (New breeding techniques for crop improvement). H. Robert Boisivon and her group will participate in Brassica transformation and the improvement of gene delivery and genome editing in selected dicots.
The research group will be involved in project activities 5.8 Hormonal perception, root system development, and plant immunity and 5.9 Control of the transition to the reproduction stage, tolerance of sexual organs to heat and drought.
Research Specialist will participate in developing molecular tools and protocols for genome editing, transformation, and plant regeneration.
The ideal candidate profile:
Must have:
- Must be in active PhD studies no later than the date of starting the position
- Strong expertise in at least one of the following specializations
- Good oral and written communication skills in English
- Creative, practical lab experience
- Independence, accountability, and reliability
Nice to have:
- Good communication and organizational skills
