Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow (PDF)/ Research Assistant Professor (RAP) in Youth Mental Health (several posts) in the Department of Psychiatry, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 530460), to commence as soon as possible, on a one- to two-year temporary basis for PDF, or on a one-year temporary or a two-year fixed-term basis for RAP, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team based at the Department of Psychiatry, School of Clinical Medicine.  The team consists of enthusiastic and highly-motivated individuals, and is internationally renowned for its contribution towards clinical research in psychiatry and mental disorders. 

Applicants should possess a doctoral degree by research (Ph.D. or equivalent) in psychiatry, psychology, social sciences, public health, sociology, statistics, or a relevant discipline, with an excellent publication track record. They should have a quantitative background, relevant experience in conducting and managing community research and clinical studies, and demonstrated expertise in conducting psychiatric interviews and analysing large and complex datasets.  Proficiency in at least one statistical software package (e.g. SPSS, Stata, SAS, R, Mplus) is required. 

The team is looking for individuals with high calibre to develop studies in the area of early intervention in mental disorders, in collaboration with expert researchers and clinicians. The appointees will conduct scholarly research, lead projects, prepare manuscripts and reports, assist in the supervision of junior research staff and students, and perform other duties as assigned. These positions would be ideal for someone wanting to develop academically in the field of early intervention and youth mental health. Those with relevant post-doctoral work experience and an excellent publication track record may be considered for appointment as RAP.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. For RAP, the appointment on fixed term will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
