About the Role

Appointees at Level D (Associate Professor) will have a distinguished track record of research, demonstrated by publications in high-impact journals, successful grant applications, and links with external bodies including industry, government, and community. They will also be expected to have experience in research training at the Honours and postgraduate levels, as well as in postgraduate coursework. Associate Professors are expected to contribute to the strategic directions of the School and actively participate in the governance processes and outreach activities of both the School and the University. The appointee will work closely with research and teaching staff in the School of Engineering, Design and Built Environment and will be encouraged to develop collaborations with other areas as appropriate. Appointees will also be required to foster relevant relationships external to the University and may have opportunities for relevant leadership roles in this area.

About You

The successful candidate will have a PhD in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related discipline. They will demonstrate outstanding scholarly and professional achievement in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, including but not limited to semiconductor technology, with national or international standing in a research area that complements the School’s strengths. The candidate will have a proven ability to attract competitive research funding. They will possess demonstrated skills in leading a team and collaborating effectively with senior school management and other members of a multi-disciplinary team to develop a program of Electrical/Electronic Engineering research and translate research findings into practice. Experience in supervising research students is essential. The candidate will also have extensive ability to teach in related discipline areas such as Electronics (digital and/or analogue), semiconductor devices, control systems, mechatronics, and Power Electronics.

Remuneration Package: Academic Level D $202,792 to $222,734 p.a. (comprising Salary of $171, 829 to $188,873 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading)
