The Opportunity

The Director - International will bring strategic leadership, innovation, and proven expertise in fostering cross-cultural relationships and expanding the University's global reach within a dynamic dual-sector educational environment.

Leading a passionate team responsible for a wide range of operations across Student Recruitment, Business Development, Student Mobility, Scholarships, and Admissions, the Director is responsible for developing and implementing an innovative international student recruitment strategy, expanding student mobility programs, maximising ROI from international markets, and establishing improved reliability through diversified international recruitment and revenue channels. 

Working closely with and reporting to our dynamic Pro Vice-Chancellor (Global) & Chief International Officer, the Director will also play a critical role in supporting strategic and tactical activities including diversifying and fostering strategic international partnership opportunities, representing VU at an international level and other strategic initiatives. 

About You

You are an innovative and driven leader, with extensive proven experience in a similar role within international student recruitment space and engagement. You will also possess:

  • Proven ability to devise and implement effective strategies and initiatives that deliver growth 
  • Strong strategic, analytical, and conceptual skills with the ability to structure and convert strategies into compelling and achievable work programs including delivery
  • Strong understanding of innovative marketing and communication strategies and enhancing brand at international level
  • Exceptional leadership skills and are able to inspire and drive innovation 
  • Superior business development, relationship and networking skills 
  • Strong understanding of the Australian tertiary education sector (higher education and vocational education) and regulatory requirements for providers as it relates to international students

Conditions & Benefits

This full-time position will be offered on a 3-year fixed term contract basis. An attractive remuneration package is on offer, including an employer superannuation contribution of up to 17%.
