Your personal sphere of play:

The chair of Prof. Lewisch is a unit within the Department of Criminal Law and Criminology with the main focus on fundamental questions of  “(Criminal) Law and the State”, on business and white collar crime, and on procedure; it is interdisciplinary and international.  The Center for Economic Analysis of the Law, under the directorship of Prof. Lewisch, is also established at the Department.

The duration of the contract at the time of employment is 5 years. Initially limited to 1.5 years, the employment relationship is automatically extended to 5 years if the employer does not submit a declaration of non-extension within the first 12 months. 

Your future tasks:

You will be actively involved in research, teaching & administration, which means:

  • You will build up an independent research profile in the field of criminal law and criminal procedural law.
  • You will be involved in research projects and academic studies in the field of criminal law and criminal procedural law.
  • You will publish internationally and give lectures.
  • You will prepare and complete a habilitation ready for publication.
  • You will teach courses independently in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement.
  • You will supervise your students.
  • You will be involved in evaluation measures and quality assurance.
  • You will take on administrative tasks in research and teaching.

This is part of your personality:

  • Graduation and doctoral degree in law.
  • Explicit interest in academic questions; willingness to write a habilitation thesis
  • Competence to work independently
  • Excellent command of written and oral English (C1)
  • Excellent comand of written and oral German (C1)
  • Comprehensive knowledge at least regarding MS-Office
  • Team player with high social/communication skills

Fixed-term contract and fair salary: The basic salary of EUR 4,752.30 (14 times a year) for a period of 5 years and increases if we can credit professional experience.
