Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in the HKU Research Hub of Population Studies within the Faculty of Social Sciences (Ref.: 530563), to commence as soon as possible on a temporary basis from 1 to 3 years, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in the Social Sciences, Sociology, Geography, Social Work, Psychology, or related disciplines. Experience in conducting demographic research is an advantage.
The appointee should have a high level of competency in using statistical software packages with evidence of working collaboratively across organisational boundaries and with other disciplines. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills are expected. A demonstrated ability to produce world-class research, as well as a strong publication record in high-impact journals, is essential.
The appointee will work in the HKU Research Hub of Population Studies (https://www.socsc.hku.hk/rhps/) within the Faculty of Social Sciences to conduct research on topics related, but not limited to migration, health, ageing, children and family, gender and sexuality, mortality, population and development, and urbanisation . He/she will participate in research projects and activities at all levels, data management and analysis, and manuscript/grant preparation. Publication and collaborative research opportunities are available.
