We are seeking a Research Assistant who will support the Research Manager with the development of the College Connect research strategy, communicating research outputs, and supporting the embedding of the Community Needs Analysis (CNA) findings and recommendations across the MEND region. The College Connect Project aims to support access to higher education for communities underrepresented in higher education (including Travellers, people with disabilities, people in the asylum system, refugees, people with previous convictions) in the Midlands, East, North Dublin (MEND) region.

The Research Assistant will provide support to the Research Manager across several priority College Connect Research activities including (i) All Island Research laboratory (AIRO) Model of Community Engagement; (iii) overall Project Evaluation, (iv) Community Needs Analysis (CNA) with Traveller and Roma communities. The Research Assistant will support the Research Manager in a range of academic research projects and methodologies. This position will be based in Maynooth University with a focus on the MEND region. The post holder will work as a member of the College Connect team and report to the College Connect Research Manager.

The successful candidate will have a thorough knowledge of academic literature searches and reviews, data analysis and management, conducting focus groups & interviews; and effective dissemination methodologies for embedding research findings. The candidate will have excellent organisational and IT skills and high levels of self-motivation and flexibility.

Salary

Research Assistant Level I (2024): €31,962 – €35,856 p.a. (6 points, pro rata)

Research Assistant Level II (2024): €36,796 – €41,943 p.a. (7 points, pro-rata)

Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.
