The Chancellor of SEA is the chief executive and visionary leader responsible for ensuring the institution’s strategic, financial, and educational success across its three core streams: Professional Development, Academics, and Research. This role demands leadership in advancing SEA’s reputation globally, while sustaining excellence in educational innovation, research impact, and professional development for educators. The Chancellor will foster a collaborative, purpose-driven culture and actively engage with a broad range of stakeholders to expand SEA’s global influence, generate sustainable revenue, and make a lasting impact on the education system.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Oversee the development and implementation of the institution’s strategic vision and plan, focusing on sustainable growth, educational innovation, and enhancing institutional impact.
  2. Cultivate an environment of excellence within the three streams to drive research with impact, innovative teaching, and continuous professional development.
  3. Develop and execute long-term financial strategies that includes diversification through each stream and beyond.
  4. Proactively engage with international educational trends and policy developments to ensure SEA remains at the forefront of global educational innovation, continuously evolving its programs to align with future demands in education.
  5. Drive SEA’s expansion both locally and globally, advancing SEA’s reputation as an institution through major contributions in transforming education.
  6. Collaborate with the Board of Trustees on strategic planning, governance, and policy development to ensure transparency, accountability, and alignment with institutional goals.
  7. Develop a positive, supportive, and purpose driven work culture, utilizing continuous development while empowering management and staff to innovate, collaborate, and excel. 
  8. Establish a strong network through engaging with alumni, community leaders, donors, and external stakeholders to enhance partnerships, reputation, and resources.
  9. Position SEA as a thought leader in education by participating in global forums, writing op-eds, delivering keynote speeches, and driving discourse on key educational reforms and innovations.
  10. Develop and maintain external partnerships with industry, government, and philanthropic organizations to secure resources and support that align with the institution’s mission.
  11. Ensure that all academic programs meet and exceed the highest standards of quality, innovation, and compliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements.
  12. Advocate for student success by fostering an environment that promotes academic achievement, well-being, and holistic career development opportunities.
  13. Support and strengthen the institution’s research agenda by promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, securing research funding, and raising the institution’s academic profile.
  14. Lead efforts in student recruitment, retention, and enrollment management to achieve institutional growth, diversity, and inclusion targets.
  15. Ensure that the SEA’s day-to-day operations, including HR, budgeting, financial planning, resource allocation, and compliance, are operating efficiently and can sustain effective management of resources.
  16. Work closely with senior leadership to set priorities, communicate strategies, and coordinate institution-wide initiatives for continued growth and success.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Ph.D. or EdD in Education, Business Administration, Management, or a related field from a recognized university.
  2. Proven experience (minimum of 10 years) in executive leadership or senior management roles, preferably in an educational institution or similar setting.
  3. Proven track record in developing effective academic, professional development, and research models that resulted in financial success; preferable in the field of education or related field (minimum of 8 years’ experience).
  4. Candidates must be bilingual. Proficiency in English and Arabic languages.

  7. Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage with a broad range of stakeholders—including faculty, students, government officials, donors, and the community—and effectively advocate for SEA’s mission and vision.
  8. Crisis and Risk Management: Strong crisis leadership and risk management skills, with the ability to anticipate and respond to potential challenges or disruptions, ensuring continuity and resilience in operations.
  9. Talent Development and Team Building: A strong commitment to developing leadership within the organization, with skills in mentoring, coaching, and fostering a collaborative, purpose-driven work culture that supports staff development and retention.
