THE DEPARTMENT
We have built an External Relations Directorate that has brought together an integrated Communications & Engagement and Student Recruitment & Marketing service. The directorate is made up of a number of teams including Communications & Engagement, Marketing, Recruitment and Conversion, Outreach and Access, Design and Digital, Events and Advancement and the International Office.
We are looking for team members who will be part of embedding an innovative practice and a digital first mindset within our External Relations Directorate. We seek individuals who not only enjoy working in an agile environment but also demonstrate a willingness to embrace new technology and transformational change. Together, we aim to cultivate a culture of 'continuous new', staying updated with emerging technologies and best practice across the sector.
This role will sit within Outreach and Access, in the Schools and Colleges team and is funded by Office for Students (OfS). OfS funding is used to tackle and eliminate inequalities in higher education and the Outreach and Access team work with young people who are least likely to participate in higher education, to help them make informed decisions regarding their educational futures.
THE JOB
The award-winning Schools and Colleges team are seeking a Post 16 Project Coordinator to work with 16 – 18 year olds from widening participation backgrounds. The role will support with the planning, organisation and delivery of projects and events such as, subject taster’s workshops, university taster days and the flagship Summer School Challenge programme. Strong administration skills, project management experience and digital skills are required for this role.
A collaborative approach will be required to work with key stakeholders which can include subject teachers, parents, ambassadors, career teams, UEL academics, university service areas, and third parties. Our core work is within London and Essex and some weekend and evening work will be required. Our work supports the university’s wider recruitment strategy.
We offer hybrid working and the team work on campus for a minimum of two days per week which is subject to change to meet business needs. As this is a customer facing role working directly with young people, the postholder will be required to be available five days a week to support business needs as and when necessary.
A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) will be requested for the successful candidate.
