The successful applicant will lead fascinating projects focusing on the development of innovative ways to automate (including the use of robotic systems) the building, operation, inspection, retrofit, and repair of construction projects, coupled with the application of artificial intelligence and new technologies. The objectives include increasing quality and safety and reducing construction time and costs (i.e., increasing productivity). Automation is mostly intended to be done onsite using autonomous and mobile robotic systems with applicable sensors, controls, and algorithms. The post-doctoral associate will work in a multidisciplinary environment consisting of PhD-level scientists, graduate students and undergraduate students. The selected post-doctoral associate is expected to continuously document research progress in the form of scientific publications to be submitted to top journals in our field.
