The University of Macau (UM) is an internationalized public comprehensive university in the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) located at the west bank of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA). The Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences (ICMS)/State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine (QRCM) invites applications for the position of Associate/Assistant Professor in the following disciplines:

1. Bioinformatics
2. Cheminformatics
3. Big data analysis of Chinese medicines
4. Computational pharmacy
5. Artificial intelligence for drug discovery
6. Pharmacoepidemiology
7. Pharmaceutical regulatory sciences
8. Pharmacoeconomics

Established in 2002, ICMS is an academic centre of excellence in Chinese medicine as well as biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences in the region. It hosts the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine, as well as Macau Centre for R&D in Chinese Medicine, UM Centre for Pharmaceutical Regulatory Sciences, UM Macau Centre for Testing of Chinese Medicine and Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Over the past decade, the Institute has established an international reputation in conducting high-quality research with special emphasis on Chinese medicine quality research, drug discovery and development, immunopharmacology, systems pharmacology, molecular pharmaceutics and regulatory sciences. It has secured outstanding funding support from both national and regional governments and built long-term strategic collaborations with top academic organizations around the world. Qualifications

Applicants should possess PhD/MD degree in Pharmacy, Medicine, Biomedicine or related disciplines, postdoctoral research experience from globally renowned universities, and should have a distinguished track record of internationally-recognized research publications. Priority consideration will be given to those with sustained high-quality research/teaching experiences in social and administrative pharmacy, pharmacy administration, health services management, public health, data science, pharmaceutical science, Chinese medicinal science, or bioinformatics.

The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in 2025.

Remuneration

A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP855,400 (approximately USD105,600) will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% – 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
