About the opportunity

The University of Sydney is welcoming applications for a Lecturer in Coaching Psychology (Education Focused). This position is an education-focused specialised category of academic engagement reserved for talented educators with a passion for, and demonstrated excellence in, pedagogical practice and design. The successful applicant will be working within the Coaching Psychology Unit, which is the world's first university-based Coaching Psychology Unit with the first established university master's level program in coaching worldwide.

The Coaching Psychology Unit is recognised internationally for its innovative and rigorous development of evidence-based approaches to coaching psychology and applied positive psychology and is renowned for establishing the early research base for the discipline internationally. Your key responsibilities will be to:

• undertake independent teaching into the programs delivered by the School's Coaching Psychology Unit
• engage in high-quality teaching and learning experiences that meet the University's expectations and standards for education-focused staff
• contribute to outstanding educational design, delivery and evaluation to improve student outcomes
• apply knowledge of contemporary pedagogical practice to innovate education.

About you

• a Ph or postgraduate qualifications in Coaching Psychology
• deliver high quality teaching that effectively engages students in their learning
• develop innovative course content and assessments in Coaching Psychology and related areas
• contribute to curriculum development in areas relevant to Coaching Psychology
• independently conduct and publish high quality research relevant to the School's existing strengths
• submit applications for funding for educational research and/or areas relevant to Coaching Psychology
• provide outstanding research training (e.g. honours/PhD)
• exhibit high quality communication and organisational skills
• contribute to governance, leadership, and engagement within the School/University
• work collaboratively with other staff, including professional staff, and foster principles of equity, diversity and inclusion.
