Office of Indigenous Strategy and Engagement
The Office of Indigenous Strategy and Engagement provides strategic leadership to the university with a vision for Equal engagement and participation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in higher education through the recognition of, and respect for, Indigenous peoples, knowledge, and culture. Our mission is to increase the recognition of Indigenous knowledges and perspectives, the promotion of teaching and research in Indigenous studies, the employment of Indigenous staff, increasing the participation of, and opportunities for, Indigenous students and engagement with Indigenous communities and issues.
About the Role
Flinders University is seeking an Indigenous Community Partnerships and Pathways Coordinator to join their team within the Office of Indigenous Strategy and Engagement.
The Indigenous Community Partnerships and Pathways Coordinator (ICPPC) will work to raise the profile of the University to prospective Indigenous students by facilitating partnerships with Indigenous community organisations, schools and educational programs. The successful candidate will manage a small team of staff, coordinate partnerships with pathways stakeholders, contribute to the development of an Indigenous Recruitment Strategy, and develop an annual calendar of recruitment activities and events that promote access to Flinders University pathways.
The successful candidate will also:
- Act as a key liaison point and subject matter expert regarding pathways into Flinders University including the Indigenous Admission Scheme, scholarship and accommodation.
- Foster sustainable relationships with an extensive network of internal and external stakeholders.
- Evaluate and analyse key statistics on applications and enrolments of students in order to provide input into recruitment strategies and activities.

To be successful in this role, you will be a team player and forward thinker, who is always looking for ways to improve. Collaboration and communication will be key to your success, both within your team with external stakeholders. You will be competent in undertaking and overseeing projects, analysing statistics, reporting and fostering sustainable relationships which will in turn, grow the overall presence of the Office of Indigenous Strategy and Engagement.
To be successful in this role, you will also demonstrate:
- Leadership skills with the ability to manage a small team of staff.
- Significant experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.
- Relationship management skills, including the ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated project and event management skills, including planning and coordination of projects with multiple stakeholders, and within agreed standards, timeframes and budgets.
- Demonstrated high-level administration skills, including managing budgets, preparing reports and briefs, and the ability to use computer software and related applications.
