About the Role  

As the Lecturer in Primary Science and Mathematics Education, you are responsible for the development, coordination and delivery of courses within UniSA Education Futures undergraduate and postgraduate programs. You will contribute to research and scholarly activity, independently and as a member of the team, resulting in quality publications in both academic refereed and professional journals.

At UniSA Education Futures, we develop education professionals who will play a crucial role in the learning and development of children, young people, and adults. Our research contributes to innovation in education and preparation for learning, supporting, and informing new approaches to practice in the ever-evolving education sector. Education Futures is home to two world class research centres namely, the Centre for Research in Educational and Social Inclusion (CRESI) and Centre for Change and Complexity in Learning (C3L). UniSA College is positioned within UniSA Education Futures. The College is responsible for the university’s pre-degree and pathway programs for Australian students, and implements the University’s Participation Strategy, aimed at increasing the number of students from a low socio-economic background enrolled in the University.

Essential Skills and Experience  

  • PhD qualification in Science and/or Mathematics Education in the primary and/or middle years of schooling 
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake a range of teaching duties including the preparation of appropriate teaching materials and resources for Science and/or Mathematics Education in the primary and/or middle years of schooling  
  • Demonstrated commitment to establishing a program of research that demonstrates growing publication record, and experience in the preparation of research grant applications and success in attracting research income commensurate with opportunity  
  • Demonstrated ability in using a range of contemporary teaching methodologies (including digital techniques) required for effective curriculum delivery
