POSTDOC POSITION in biomedical research: Role of DNA repair proteins in metabolism of G4 structures

A postdoc position is available at Lumír Krejčí Research Group, Laboratory of Recombination and DNA Repair, Department of Biology. The laboratory is devoted to fundamental studies in processing of stalled replication forks and how this process contributes to genome instability and disease development. Examples of the recently studied problems in our lab include (1) role of homologous recombination proteins in processing stalled replication forks, (2) role of phase separation in genome maintenance, (3) characterisation of Rothmund-Thomson helicase, (4) role of G4 structures in genome stability, and (5) identification and optimisation of novel nuclease inhibitors for improved therapy. For more details, see: https://www2.med.muni.cz/lord/ or contact Lumir Krejci: lkrejci@chemi.muni.cz

The successful candidate should:

  • Hold a Ph.D. in molecular biology, biochemistry or similar field or its equivalent, awarded within the past 7 years, AND have worked in research for at least 2 years of work, within the last 3 years, outside the Czech Republic (with a workload equivalent to at least 0.5 full-time employment)
