Applications are invited for appointment as Clinical Practitioner (several posts) in the Department of Microbiology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 530462), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.
Applicants should possess a medical qualification registrable with the Medical Council of Hong Kong and should be fluent in Cantonese, English, and preferably Putonghua. Preference will be given to those with research experience in microbiology or related areas.
The appointees are expected to provide regular clinical services, patient care and infection control at the University’s affiliate teaching hospitals. They will contribute to undergraduate teaching, assist in curriculum development and participate in assessment activities. They will also engage in research activities, such as study design, data collection and analysis. Information about the Department can be obtained at https://hkumicro.hku.hk/.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
