  • Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University

About You

As a VE Teacher, you will play a vital role in inspiring and educating our students. Your main responsibilities will include delivering engaging course material, assessing student progress, and supervising those enrolled in selected courses within the school or cluster. Your insights will greatly contribute to the school's ongoing enhancements of course content, teaching strategies (including online formats), and assessment methods. Additionally, you will have the chance to build valuable connections with external organizations, industry groups, and RMIT teaching and administration staff. Join us in making a meaningful impact!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proven expertise and proficiency in relevant computer programming languages and software commonly used in engineering, such as C, C++, Python, Java, MATLAB, Simulink, and Microsoft Office 365 Suite.
  • Demonstrated skills and knowledge in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), and CNC Machines.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills relevant to teaching and consultancy.
  • Skills and experience in competency-based assessment.
  • Ability in ensuring current and contemporary vocational competence which meets and/or exceeds the education level being delivered and assessed.
  • Experience in relevant industry, and substantial discipline knowledge as it relates to this position.

Qualifications

The appointee must hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. A Ph.D. in a related field is preferred.
