Applications are invited for a permanent post of a Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Farm Animal Clinical Studies within UCD School of Veterinary Medicine.

The successful applicant will join a dynamic team working in the area of herd health and animal husbandry, with a spectrum of research activity linking basic reproductive biology, food safety, dairy cow nutrition, calf health, epidemiology and the development and implementation of innovative disease management systems at herd level. The appointed candidate will actively explore opportunities for research funding in the area of herd health and husbandry and contribute to the teaching of Herd Health / Animal Husbandry / Farm Animal Clinical Studies across all years of the MVB degree programme. The successful candidate will also have a proven interest in veterinary education and expect to be involved in teaching Farm Animal Clinical Studies to students of veterinary medicine and veterinary nursing at both undergraduate and graduate levels. The teaching activities will be based at UCD Belfield, the UCD Lyons farm and other cooperating farms. The candidate will also contribute to the Graduate Certificate in Dairy Herd Health, to other programmes offered by the School, as appropriate, and to the clinical services of UCD Veterinary Hospital. He/she will be expected to develop links with other relevant research groups both internationally and nationally, for example, in the context of the recent Animal Health Ireland initiative.

Salary: 95 Lecturer/Asst Professor Above The Bar €62,855 - €99,533 per annum
Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines.
