SALARY: £40,000-45,000
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Times Higher Education (THE) and Education World Forum (EWF) teams as an Event Manager, handling operations and logistics for our global portfolio of events, with a special focus on the annual Education World Forum.
For 20 years, EWF has provided a forum for education and skills ministers from across the globe to share best practice and discuss solutions to common challenges. It comprises of three days of sessions featuring policymakers and experts, with many sessions given by ministers themselves as part of an honest assessment of the state of global education.
In addition to the EWF, this role will also contribute to THE’s global events footprint of 40+ summits and conferences throughout the year. You will work alongside our Event Operations team to ensure the smooth delivery of our events.
You’ll need to be used to a fast-paced environment, be an innovative thinker and have the ability to work with multiple stakeholders. You will have a creative approach to be able to spot opportunities that add value and enhance the experience of delegates. A keen eye for detail and the ability to multi-task are essential in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the operational plans for the event including liaising with venues on room allocation, set-up and catering
- Working with A/V suppliers on all required production elements
- Coordinating translation services as required
- Working with the venue and our design team on the design and production of on-site branding and signage
- Liaising with high-profile speakers on their participation and any travel/accommodation needs
- Monitor, control and record invoicing and budgets
- On-site event management
Essential skills:
- Proficient use of the latest version of Microsoft Office
- Excellent communicator both written and oral
- Attention to detail
- Strong commercial negotiation skills
- Willingness to travel internationally
- Stakeholder management skills
