About the Role
We are seeking a talented Community Engagement and Activation Partner to join our growing and passionate Brand team at Flinders University. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for engaging with a diverse community of students, staff, and stakeholders to further grow and develop a vibrant, engaging and activated City Campus. This position will be central to strategic events, to grow brand awareness and improve community engagement.
The Community Engagement and Activation Partner will be responsible for:
- Project managing, planning, delivering, and evaluating a high-quality program of events, launches and corporate functions to lift the University profile and ensure a positive experience at every touchpoint.
- Building and maintaining relationships with community and precinct stakeholders to co-create programs and initiatives that establish meaningful and mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Promoting the Flinders University brand and City Campus both internally and externally by contributing to the development of an agreed marketing strategy and facilitating the implementation of that strategy.
The role requires flexibility to work within campus operating hours, from 8am to 6pm, with extended hours of 8am to 8pm during peak periods.
About You
We are seeking a dynamic and engaging individual for the role of Community Engagement and Activation Partner. In this key role, you will drive vibrant campus activations, events, and placemaking initiatives that enhance student experiences and engage a diverse community of students, staff, and stakeholders. Your ability to foster strong relationships with internal and external partners will be essential as you develop and implement strategies that support the ongoing activation of the City Campus. Your extensive background in event management or marketing within a large or diverse organisation will enable you to effectively develop initiatives that improve engagement across students, staff, and stakeholders. You will work collaboratively across multiple teams, from event planning to stakeholder engagement, ensuring seamless coordination and successful execution of a range of events. Additionally, you will have excellent organisational and time management skills, strong problem-solving skills, and the capacity to meet tight deadlines and prioritise tasks as required.
To be successful in this role, you will also demonstrate:
- Well-developed to high-level organisational skills including demonstrated ability to operate within a flexible work environment, prioritise concurrent tasks, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (e.g. Event Management, Business, Marketing) with at least 4 years of subsequent relevant experience or extensive experience and demonstrated skills, knowledge and relevant work experience
- Demonstrated experience in placemaking and community engagement, working across a large and diverse organisation.
