About You

You are highly experienced and confident in managing relationships with a broad variety of stakeholders. Working in a dynamic, fast paced environment comes easy to you, with the ability to think strategically. You have expertise in resolving high level problems, including the ability to be innovative and creative in generating solutions to complex issues.

About the Role 

You will lead the development and implementation of the student orientation and transition strategy at UniSA, which will include project managing the delivery of orientation-based activities and events throughout the year.  You will be responsible for widespread collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to deliver UniSA’s orientation, providing all new students with as tailored a transition into UniSA as possible.

About the Student Engagement Unit 

The Student Engagement Unit (SEU) is responsible for the strategic development and delivery of student facing services that will enhance the on-campus and off-campus student experience for all students. The SEU also takes strategic steps to inform the quality of the student experience of learning and teaching, support services, the learning environment, and student facilities.

SEU services include Orientation, UniSA Sport, Career Services, Student Life, Student Wellbeing, Student Counselling, International Student Support, Learning Advice, Wirringka Student Services, and Access and Inclusion Services.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Experience in coordinating orientation and transition activities/demonstrated equivalent experience, knowledge and skills (e.g. project management, event managers)
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in strategically developing, leading and managing multiple activities in a complex environment with competing deadlines and multiple stakeholders
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships and liaise with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Demonstrated experience in exercising judgement, initiative, and providing strategic options and advice to senior staff
  • Demonstrated ability to apply customer focused, research-based, best practice approach for the design, development, implementation, evaluation and improvement of organisation-wide programs and initiatives
