Part-time Lecturer (holding the functional title of Expert Trainer) in the Faculty of Social Sciences

Duties and Responsibilities
Involve in the professional capacity building team of the Jockey Club End-of-Life Community Care Project (www.JCECC.hk) to work on professional training and public education in end-of-life care. Duties and responsibilities include:
- adopt innovative pedagogy to design and deliver specific training programmes on EoLC issues targeting stakeholders ranging from healthcare and social care professionals, volunteers to general public
- work with other expert trainers and training officers to develop training programmes that might be converted to components of postgraduate programmes in future
- support in generation of evidence-based contents on end-of-life care aligned with the public education activities in the project
- support and perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- a good Master’s degree or above in Social Work, Public Health, Mental Health, Psychology, Behavioral Health, Counseling, Nursing or related discipline
- at least 5 years’ solid experience in conducting professional training for medical and/or social work sector on End-of-Life Care (EoLC) and/or public education on EoLC related topics in Hong Kong
- good command of written and spoken Chinese (Cantonese) and English
- possess expert competence including, but not limited to, palliative care, family counseling, use of art, use of therapeutic groups and bereavement care
- a strong reputation in psycho-social and communication aspects of EoLC and knowledge on e-learning design would be an advantage

The appointment will commence on January 1, 2025 on a temporary term for 1 year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
