Position Summary
The Barowsky School of Business is seeking a part-time instructor to teach a course in the Master of Science in Cybersecurity program during the spring of 2025 (March-May 2025). The class meets on Mondays online.


Responsibilities
  • Teach a three-unit course at the graduate level
  • Evaluate and grade student work and provide feedback to students
  • Mentor and advise students on the progress of their projects and coursework
  • Uphold academic performance standards and integrity
  • Instructors are required to work with the School to complete assessments of the course for AACSB Assurance of Learning purposes

  • Course Descriptions
  • MSC-5706-1 Cybersecurity Strategy, Leadership & Management Competencies (3/17/2025-4/30/2025; 6:00-10:00 pm Pacific on Mondays online) - - This course allows the students to understand and address the fundamental leadership challenges and benefit from the competencies by focusing on leading the organization, leading the self, and leading others. Topics include strategy, program development, leadership and management, motivation factors, soft skills, leadership styles, creating and leading effective teams, team dynamics, team engagement and performance management, strategic communication process, leading and managing change using models and frameworks and understanding the psychology of change. In this course, students will improve the business and interpersonal skills necessary to be a competent and successful cybersecurity leader and professional while also working on the cyber strategy.

  • Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Technology, Information Security/Cybersecurity, Business with IT/Cybersecurity focus, or a closely related field
  • Professional work experience in Strategic Leadership and Management in the Cybersecurity/IT industry
  • Google Suite: Docs, Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Sheets, and Slides
  • Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Zoom
  • Digital Camera
  • Must be a California resident

  • Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD degree in Technology, Information Security/Cybersecurity or a closely related field
  • Teaching experience at the graduate level, especially in cybersecurity management, cyber risk leadership, or business leadership with a cybersecurity focus
  • Industry experience in cybersecurity leadership roles, such as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), Director of Security, or Security Operations Manager
  • Leading cybersecurity teams or managing large-scale cybersecurity programs in private, public, or government sectors
  • Industry Certifications: CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CGEIT, CISA, and others
  • Leadership and management experience in the context of cybersecurity, including skills in team management, executive communication, and cybersecurity budgeting
  • Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) experience
