About the Roles
Senior Research Support Officer (College of Science and Engineering (CSE)) – Fixed Term
The Senior Research Support Officer will work within the relevant College and Institutes to provide the key research development services in support of a college’s research themes. They will provide research support to staff by identifying research opportunities and facilitating the involvement of college staff in grants, proposals and new opportunities. These include supporting the College and RDS strategies to grow research capacity and success, coordination of large funding applications and contribution to activities such as research quality and impact assessments.
The incumbent will also provide administrative support relating to the planning, development, and project management of the College’s research activities to enhance capabilities and reputation in research.
Senior Research Support Officer (Flinders Health and Medical Research Institute (FHMRI)) - Continuing
The Senior Research Support Officer in FHMRI, will provide administrative support relating to the planning and development of the College’s research activities aligned with FHMRI and RDS strategies to grow research capacity and success.
The incumbent will provide research support by identifying research opportunities and facilitating the involvement of college staff in grants, proposals, and new opportunities; and assisting with the development of research funding proposals.
The Senior Research Support Officer will also provide support across the College, which includes Northern Territory and regional South Australia.
About You
Your demonstrated ability to manage and supervise staff and extensive experience in project management or business development, enable you to liaise and negotiate and work cooperatively with a diverse range of people, internally and externally, especially within the research space.
Your proficiency when delivering presentations, showcases your high-level verbal and written communication skills.
You will also be able to demonstrate:
- Completion of a relevant degree and subsequent relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education and/or training.
- Experience in facilitating and coordinating the writing of complex research grant applications to attract research grant funding.
- Significant experience in project management or business development ideally in the research field.
- Experience in establishing and developing collaborative partnerships in conjunction with the project leader and senior researchers.
- High-level proficiency in the use of MS Office suite software, databases, and management information systems, showcase your competency in data analysis.
