About You

Combining tertiary qualifications and experience in work health and safety, you are an experienced WHS partner who has worked in a complex organisation. You are a skilled communicator who has the ability to build constructive relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders with the view to influence the implementation and maintenance of a strong safety and wellbeing culture that is embedded in core business activities.

About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Consultant: Safety and Wellbeing, you will establish networks and build relationships across the University. You will provide a high level safety and wellbeing consultancy service to senior managers and staff. You will participate in strategic planning, undertake incident investigations and develop and provide safety training and as part of maintaining the whole of University safety and wellbeing safety management system.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in work health and safety combined with relevant experience as a WHS partner
  • High level interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
  • High level written and analytical skills and experience in preparing reports and recommendations for senior managers
  • Ability to work well with others across multi-disciplinary teams and be self-directed at other times
  • Ability to prioritise and effectively organise workload to achieve defined outcomes • High level computer literacy and ability to adapt to new technology
