Two continuing part-time positions: Level B @0.2FTE ($111,031 to $131,335 pro-rata) and Level C @ 0.4FTE ($135,388-$155,696 pro-rata) plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation. Clinical loading may also apply.

Applicants may apply for the two positions @ 0.6FTE.  If successful, the level of appointment will be recommended by the Selection panel.

Based at the Adelaide Health and Medical Sciences building on North Tce, Adelaide, the University of Adelaide is seeking to strengthen its delivery of this important Domain of the Medical Program. 

The roles could be occupied by a single, or two, individual(s).  The successful candidate(s) will work collaboratively in a team with other academics and will play a pivotal role in developing innovative, context relevant teaching and assessment activities.  These roles are critical to the development of the medical program at the University of Adelaide, as the Adelaide Medical School seeks to ensure that its graduates continue to be equipped to practice as leaders with the highest professional standards. As these roles will focus on delivery of the Domain in clinical environments, it is expected that the successful applicant(s) will have significant familiarity with clinical medicine.  While the position would be well suited to a medical practitioner, individuals with relevant experience in medical ethics, law or leadership are also encouraged to apply.

The role(s) available in Medical Professionalism and Leadership are:

  • Professionalism and Leadership (P+L) Domain Lead (0.4 FTE, Level C Senior Lecturer): leading development and delivery of the Professionalism and Leadership domain of the six-year Bachelor of Medical Studies/Doctor of Medicine program;
  • Professionalism and Leadership Domain year level Coordinator (0.2 FTE, Level B Lecturer): delivering and refining an established Professionalism and Leadership curriculum into third year of the Bachelor of Medical Studies.

To be successful in the role of P+L Domain Lead (0.4.FTE) you will need: 

  • Evidence of substantial professional and/or clinical experience in the areas of Professionalism and Leadership. 
  • A PhD, or Professional Fellowship in a relevant discipline, or have equivalent qualifications with clinical or research experience related to the field of Professionalism and Leadership.
  • Experience in medical curriculum development and the conduct of tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops and clinical sessions
  • Demonstrated ability to lead others in the delivery of high-quality course and subject design including the delivery of high quality student centred learning and teaching at an undergraduate level.
  • Demonstrated capacity to incorporate new technologies and new approaches to teaching and learning.

To be successful in the role of Professionalism and Leadership Domain year level Coordinator (0.2 FTE), you will need:

  • A PhD, or have equivalent qualifications with clinical or research experience related to the field of Professionalism and Leadership.
  • Experience in medical curriculum delivery and the conduct of tutorials, lectures and workshops.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with others in the delivery of high-quality courses that incorporate high quality student centred learning and teaching at an undergraduate level.
  • The capacity to incorporate new technologies and new approaches to teaching and learning.
  • Highly developed communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues from diverse and different backgrounds.
