Lingnan Institute of Further Education (LIFE) is a self-financing arm of Lingnan University providing various full-time academic programmes including Associate Degree, Higher Diploma, Diploma, Diploma of Applied Education, Applied Learning and part-time professional continuing education programmes to meet the diverse learning needs of society.

The appointee is required to (a) develop course syllabus and take up academic leadership role in programmes related to English Language, particular in IELTS; (b) carry out teaching duties in sub-degree programmes, Diploma of Applied Education programmes and other English courses offered by LIFE; (c) administer programme coordination work with stakeholders; and (d) perform any other duties as assigned.

General Requirements

Applicant should have a master’s degree in English Language or related discipline, with at least four years’ teaching experience with at least two years’ teaching in IELTS for secondary school students and adult learners. He/she should commit to teaching excellence, programme development and management, student advising and promotion activities. Preference will be given to applicants who hold professional qualifications CELTA or TESOL or TEFL certificate. Experience in programme accreditation and quality assurance in tertiary education sector would be an added advantage. Applicants are available to teach in day time and/or evening.

Candidates with less/more experience will also be considered for appointment at a relevant rank.

Appointment

The conditions of appointment will be competitive. The rank and remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund, gratuity and incoming passage and baggage allowance for the eligible appointee. Appointment will normally be made on contract basis for up to two years.
