About the Centre for Water Technology and Policy
The Centre for Water Technology and Policy, established in 2018, conducts cutting-edge research on water technology-policy interface issues that would result in findings of direct practical relevance for Hong Kong’s urban water sector. The Centre offers a vibrant working environment, embraces an innovative culture and commits to a can-do spirit. We are seeking a Post-doctoral Fellow to conduct policy-oriented studies and produce publishable-quality manuscripts that pertain to important aspects of urban water resources management.
Position Overview
The appointee is expected to play a key role in implementing the Centre’s research programme, which examines salient public policy matters in the urban water sector. He/She will work closely with the Centre’s Executive Director and a team of investigators drawn from the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Social Sciences. Nonetheless, he/she will carry out research tasks on the said topic in an independent manner.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include: Performing data analysis, both qualitative and quantitative; drafting project progress reports; preparing manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals; and developing funding proposals. In addition, the appointee is expected to contribute to the Centre's teaching and learning initiatives as well as its public engagement activities.
Requirements
- A Ph.D. degree in a Social Sciences discipline (e.g., Geography; Public health; Public policy; Sociology; Urban planning)
- Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate in an interdisciplinary environment

The appointment will commence as soon as possible, on a one-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
