We are inviting applications for a 3-year Post-Doctoral Associate in the Division of Social Science at NYU Abu Dhabi from individuals who recently have or will soon receive a PhD in Political Science. The appointment will begin September 1, 2025, subject to final budget approval.

The post-doctoral associate will spend half their time on independent research, and half their time on collaborative research with Professors Sujeong Shim and Muhammet Bas. The collaborative research will be broadly on global economic cooperation and emerging challenges to it.

We seek a candidate who studies international political economy and/or international institutions, and their interactions with security domains; is trained well in quantitative research methods; and has experience in managing and analyzing data. Experience in survey research is not mandatory but is appreciated. Example focus areas include, but not limited to, politics of sovereign financing, geopolitics of different types of foreign aid, and the political economy of the environment.

The position does not require teaching, but it may be possible to get teaching experience for compensation. You would join a group of over 20 post-doctoral fellows and 70 faculty in the Division of Social Science.
