The Institute for Labour and Social Law is one of the leading teaching and research institutions in Austria dealing with central problems of Austrian and European labour law and law of social security. The broad range of activities in research and teaching as well as access to a well-equipped library enable excellent academic training and personal development. The positions are fixed-term and to be filled as soon as possible (preferably on 1. Feburary 2025).

We are looking for a prae doc assistant (KV Verwendungsgruppe: B1) to support the team of Univ.-Prof. Dr Elisabeth Brameshuber. The employment relationship is initially limited to 1.5 years and is then automatically extended to 4 years if the employer does not submit a declaration of non-extension within the first 12 months.

Your personal sphere of influence:

As a University Assistant Praedoc you will complete the research team of Univ.-Prof- Mag. Dr. Elisabeth Brameshuber in the field of labour law and social security law. Besides your own research activities, you will take on tasks such as independent and supportive teaching of courses and examinations, supervision of students and support regarding research, organisational and administrative tasks.

Your future tasks:

You actively participate in research, teaching & administration, which means:

  • You will work on and finalise your dissertation. We expect you to finalise your dissertation agreement within 12-18 months.
  • You will teach courses independently to the extent required by the collective agreement.
  • You will take on administrative tasks in research and teaching.
  • You will be involved in organisational and administrative tasks as well as evaluation measures.
  • You will take care of the continuation and support of international co-operations

This is part of your personality:

  • Completed Master's/Diploma degree in the field of law
  • Excellent knowledge of labour and social law (proven, for example, by a corresponding seminar paper or diploma thesis/master's thesis) or related fields of law (in particular civil European and constitutional law)
  • Special interest in European labour law and law of social security or at the interface with other legal fields
  • First experience in academic writing and research methods
  • Experience in e-learning
  • You should be a team player with high social skills
  • IT skills: MS-Office
  • Excellent command of written and spoken German and English

Fair salary: The basic salary of EUR 3277,30 (on a full-time basis) increases if we can credit professional experience.
