The Executive Strategic Advisor to the Vice Chancellor

The Executive Strategic Advisor (ESA) is instrumental in advancing the Vice-Chancellor's (VC) strategic objectives, with a particular emphasis on Strategy 2032. Reporting to the Chief of Staff, this role entails providing nuanced strategic counsel, adeptly managing partnerships, and ensuring seamless communication with key stakeholders.

The ESA conducts comprehensive analyses and delivers insights on a wide array of issues, taking into account the intricate political and business landscapes, all while upholding the highest standards of confidentiality and sensitivity.

The ESA is pivotal in fostering robust relationships with the University Executive, Senate, University Leadership Network, and other critical internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, the role supports the execution of key initiatives and meetings related to Strategy 2032, identifies emerging challenges, and prepares detailed briefings and speaking points for significant events. Through these efforts, the ESA ensures the optimal flow of information and significantly enhances the effectiveness of the VC's role.

Experience:

  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking abilities, coupled with effective leadership and people management abilities.
  • Exemplary interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, complemented by exceptional negotiating and conflict resolution capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively, taking initiatives and exercising sound judgement.
  • Proven project management skills, with experience in overseeing multiple work streams and leading large, complex projects.
  • Outstanding administrative skills and a comprehensive understanding of the project life cycle, documentation standards and methodologies.
