Senior Training Officer and Senior Social Worker (at the rank of Research Officer) in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration (to commence as soon as possible, on a one-year temporary or a two-year fixed term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s or a Master’s degree in Social Work, with no less than ten years of post-qualification community social work experience, preferably with five or more years of experience in staff and/or volunteer supervision and management. They should also have solid frontline experience in elderly, mental health, and/or community services, professional training for NGO workers and volunteers, and liaison with other professionals, such as medical doctors and clinical psychologists. All applicants should be or are eligible to be registered as social workers in Hong Kong. Experience in NGO administration and/or university-led research projects with NGOs is highly preferred.

The appointee will develop and oversee a large-scale volunteer training and management system, which will be implemented in various NGOs for Professor Terry Lum’s wellbeing projects for older adults. S/he will also lead a small team of social workers and research staff in carrying out activities and events regarding Community-Based Participatory Research and strengthen the community liaison with local stakeholders for volunteer management and implementations.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
