The Department is looking for experienced Assistant Professor of Teaching who will (1) teach multiple subjects in both undergraduate-level and postgraduate-level programmes in the business areas (especially on quantitative analysis and/or business analytics etc.); (2) work on the promotions and management, student advising and mentoring, and admissions as well as the operations for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes; (3) develop new programmes, courses, teaching methods and procedures to enhance students’ learning; and (4) contribute to other administrative duties as required by the supervisors.
General Requirements
Candidates should have (i) a doctoral degree in business, education, or other relevant areas; (ii) at least 5 years’ experience with a distinguished teaching record in teaching relevant courses and relevant programme administrative experience are required; (iii) a strong sense of a pedagogical approach to teaching; and (iv) good command of English and Chinese.
The prime responsibilities of the appointee is teaching and contributions to the education mission of the University. The appointee is required to teach a range of core and elective courses, and to develop new programmes, courses, teaching methods and procedures to enhance students’ learning. The appointee is also encouraged to apply for teaching grants.
Appointment
The conditions of appointment will be competitive. The remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund, gratuity and incoming passage and baggage allowance for the eligible appointee. Appointment will normally be made on a fixed-term contract of up to three years.
