Who We Are
The chair for Historical Transregional Studies at the Faculty Center for Transdisciplinary Historical and Cultural Studies is devoted to further developing cultural studies approaches and concepts of space and connecting the faculty's institutes in research and teaching. The focus areas include rurality in cross-epochal and transregional dimensions, political epistemologies, and women's and gender history in an interdisciplinary perspective. The position of a university assistant (prae doc) is advertised to support the department.
The position is limited to 28.02.2027 and is planned to be filled from 01.12.2024.
Your future tasks:
- You actively participate in research, teaching and administration
- Your main task is to complete your dissertation
- If not yet done, a doctoral thesis agreement is expected to be concluded within 12 to 18 months.
- teaching events in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement
This is part of your profile:
- finalized MA studies in history or in cultural studies
- high level of written and oral communication skills in English
- A good knowledge of German is an advantage, but at least a basic knowledge of German is expected, along with a willingness to develop it further.
- Knowledge of other languages according to regional focus
