Main Focus:
The Institute of Biological Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry announces a position for a university assistant (post-doc) on the topic of developing chemical tools for investigating microbial interactions (research group Microbial Biochemistry, Böttcher lab).
The position is limited to 17.07.2030.
Your future tasks:
Active participation in research, teaching & administration, which means:
- Design and synthesis of microbial natural products
- Support diverse projects in chemical biology
- Target identification and/or natural product isolation and inhibitor discovery
- Preparation of research reports, manuscripts for publications and oral presentations
- Publish in top international journals and present at conferences
- Conduct teaching activities as required by the collective bargaining agreement
- Supervision and training of students and staff members
- Support with administrative tasks, teaching and grant applications
This is part of your personality:
- Completed doctoral/PhD studies in chemistry, life sciences, or biochemistry
- Outstanding dissertation
- Research competence and initiative proven through international publications in peer-relevant media
- Experience in research management and in leading project staff
- Didactic skills / experience in e-learning
- Excellent skills in synthetic chemistry
- Experience in the synthesis of polykletides from endophytic fungi as well as of bacterial cell wall components is desired
- Excellent knowledge of English (C1)
- Team player and high social/communicative skills
- Very good organizational skills
- Precision and diligence in laboratory work
- Highest level of motivation
