Your personal sphere of work:

Your future position is at the department of “Intercultural Philosophy of Religion” at the faculty of Catholic Theology. Central areas of research are philosophy of religion and philosophical anthropology. The department actively participates in research fields of inter- or cross-cultural, comparative and global philosophy. Teaching includes introductions to the basic disciplines of philosophy, especially philosophical anthropology, with a special focus on the contributions of religious traditions.

This contract is limited for 4 years until 02/28/2029.

Your future tasks:

Active participation in research, teaching & administration, which means:

  • Independent teaching of courses as defined by the collective bargaining agreement
  • Independent research in the aerea of intercultural philosophy of religion
  • Further post-doctoral qualification in the form of preparation / completion of a habilitation thesis
  • International scholarly publishing and lecturing activity
  • Mentoring and supervision of students
  • Participation in research and teaching administration as well as departmental administration
  • Support of departmental publication projects

Your profile: Minimum requirement:

  • Doctoral degree/PhD in philosophy or equivalent qualification
  • Outstanding dissertation
  • Basic knowledge in Judeo-Christian theologies and philosophies
  • Research competence proven through international publications in peer-relevant media
  • Experience with academic teaching
  • Didactic skills / experience in e-learning
  • IT user skills (f.e. Office programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Video communication)
  • High level of verbal and written expression
  • Good command of written and spoken German and English
  • Team player and high social/communicative skills

Preferred additional qualifications:

  • Research and publications in the field of Philosophy of Religion with focus Hinduism and Buddhism
  • Basic knowledge in Sanskrit
  • International lecturing activities
  • Knowledge of university processes and structures
