THE POST – Research Fellow
You will join a dedicated team that continuously inspires our students and the wider University community. Through modern teaching and impactful research, we strive to deliver innovative solutions to some of the world's biggest challenges.
The post holder will have hands-on experience in infrastructure with proven experience. You will be responsible for playing an active, full time, and leading role at the postdoctoral level in specific R&D activities related to beyond 5G network infrastructure management in the UWS Beyond 5G Hub, which is a leading research team in Europe. The person will be dedicated to investigating, implementing, and evaluating a Beyond 5G infrastructure, as well as leading the development and operation of the infrastructure to support the trials and demonstration of use cases. The person will work on relevant EU projects such as RIGOROUS and P2CODE.
The successful candidate should have the following:
- PhD degree in Computer Science, Networks, Telecommunications, Electronic & Electrical Engineering or related areas (including PhD candidates who have submitted their PhD theses and expect to pass their viva soon), or equivalent industry experience Proven successful experience of researching and managing 5G or related infrastructure solution(s) through software/hardware development. Proven successful experience in supporting use cases over an integrated infrastructure system. Proven successful experience in creating demos for a functional ICT system. Proven successful experience of working in a project involving teamwork. Experience of publishing academic papers in peer-reviewed journals.
