Applications are invited for a permanent post of a Professor/Consultant of Paediatrics within UCD School of Medicine.

The University and the Hospital wish to expand academic leadership in Paediatrics by attracting an outstanding clinician scientist with an internationally competitive profile in research, training and education. The appointee will join Ireland's largest university and one of Europe's largest academic paediatric tertiary hospital. The appointee will serve in the leadership team of Paediatric Chairs across the CHI partner universities and foster the growth of academic paediatric care, education and research.

All parties are committed to building collaborative programmes involving the community of academic and clinical staff to further develop Ireland as an internationally recognised clinical centre of excellence in paediatrics that enhances the quality of care for Irish patients.

The UCD Full Professor of Paediatrics will be based at Children's Health Ireland, Crumlin (and subsequently at the National Children's Hospital (NCH) on the St James campus when construction is completed)**, where they will be an academic leader working with colleagues to oversee the design and conduct of high-impact and innovative research programmes with the aim of improving clinical outcomes for Irish children. The appointee will also be responsible for the design, delivery and assessment of modules and programmes for undergraduate and graduate students. They will be an experienced clinical leader who will contribute to the development of a state-of-the-art paediatric clinical services at the hospital and across the island.

Successful candidate will be appointed on the appropriate Salary scale at the first point in scale or in line with current Government pay policy and commensurate with experience.
