Post-doctoral Fellow / Senior Research Assistant / Research Assistant I

Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow (PDF) in the Critical Care Medicine Unit (22800).

Applicants should possess a PhD degree or equivalent in social science, social work studies, public health or other health-related disciplines. The appointee is expected to demonstrate proficiency in mixed methods and qualitative research methodologies (including survey, interview and focus group studies) for health-related research. Experience in interdisciplinary research and working with healthcare practitioners and/or patients will be an advantage.

The appointee will report to Prof. Emmanuel Cheung and will assist in administrative and research work, including but not limited to data collection and analysis, project management, and manuscript preparation. Enquires about the post should be sent to Prof. Emmanuel Cheung at ehcheung@hku.hk.

Candidates with bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese (Putonghua and/or Cantonese) and a good track record in performing research work independently are preferred. Those with lower qualifications and/or less experience may be appointed as Senior Research Assistant / Research Assistant I.

The appointment will commence as soon as possible for one to three years, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability. A highly competitive salary (monthly salary $30,000-$40,000) commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
